ALL CLUBS start in September and end in May
ALL CLUBS are student-led and have a club advisor. The purpose of clubs is to amplify the voice of our students in the passion that they love and to give them a platform and booster support for their interests.
To Register for a Student Club, please login to your jackrabbit portal and add the club in the registration system. (IF you are new, create a family account and then you will be able to access the clubs)
POETRY CLUB
Letting Nature inspire the way by meeting in the open outdoors, working on poetry projects and sharing and encouraging an environment of writing and poetry. FLORA and FAUNA CLUB
Join Club Leaders, Safiyya and Sumaiyah, on an adventure to learn about the wonder of animals and plants that are all around us. Get close up and learn about what these amazing animals and plants can do and how you can protect them. Every 2nd Saturday of the month (September- Dec) and (Jan- May) Commitment Requirement: Club members should: commit to one Saturday/month for 2-3 hours be able to travel to different locations around Southern California purchase materials/gear that may be needed before the event pay additional fees required to cover the cost of a specific event CLUB ADVISOR: Amina Hameed/Usman Umarji Club Leader: Safiyya Umarji and Sumaiyah Baig Meetings: Second Saturdays of the month Time: 10am - 12pm locations vary in OC Age: 8 - 12 |
NED TALKS
We live in world where environmental issues are high, while the majority of our care for the environment, is low. Join NED Talks to train to give a powerful and engaging presentation about these environmental issues. Club members will hone their public speaking skills and then create educational videos and outreach by speaking at public events. We need earth heroes, join NED talks! NATURE ALLIES CLUB
ACTIVISM To support the ENVIRONMENT AND PRACTICING SUSTAINABILITY. This club gets together and works on making the planet a better place. Get muddy, get dirty, roll up your sleeves and come have fun outdoors with us! Soccer Club
Get moving and get active. The purpose of this club is to strengthen brotherhood while enjoying a good game of soccer. Club members will also help to organize tournaments throughout the year to raise money for various charity projects. Baking Test Kitchen Club
Girls, Ages 10-12 Join Club Leader Aaliyah Ramadan for a monthly baking club. Club members will be baking new recipes, testing out new concepts, eating their baked goods, and deciding which recipes are the best! Each meeting is long to provide time for the girls to build their recipes, bake their items, clean up, and sit down for tea as a group to enjoy their hard work and compare & contrast their baked goods. Girls should be able to take home a batch to share with their family or gift to friends and neighbors. Girls will bake for an end of the year AWI fundraising event and bring their favorite tested recipes! *Note* This club requires some rotating parent volunteers and rotating kitchens for some of the club days. Individual baking supplies needed. Additional fees may apply for baking ingredients. PHOENIX RISING
Join our club and come along with us on our adventures of bonding through sisterhood while spending time hiking together, enjoying bonfire nights, reflecting through halaqa time, and many more exciting adventures. This club is designed for girls/ladies 12 and up. Here, we will support each other, chat together, and explore nature. We will interact through fun activities based on everyone’s interests and hobbies.
