Herbal Medicine is the study and use of plants for food and medicine. As one of the oldest forms of medicine on the planet, people around the world have been using herbs for thousands of years. This introductory class has multiple parts to engage the participant including a lecture on herbal actions and energetics and how to use them, a field walk on identifying plants and ecosystems, and medicine making. We will have a special focus on the harvesting of invasive plants and using them for their medicinal and culinary value. Participants will leave with an internal herbal product that they make, a topical herbal product that we make together and other goodies including samples to try.
